So the Bakersfield Californian newspaper is heading in a new direction. This is all find and good, but which way are they heading and how will they know when they get there. One thing is clear, we are not going to read Leonel Martinez anymore, his stories of the real lives of people (many of which happen to be of the soon to be majority county populationl) did not cut the muster. So what do readers want… since we are being told we don’t want Leonel anymore….more puppy stories-people love their pets; latest news from old fart car clubs, note Low Riders need not apply; the latest call to action from some local politician about a bill to stop premature balding-the latest voting demographic.
